Jamie Schoenborn

Assistant Director, Proposal Development

  • About

Biography

Jamie Schoenborn, PhD, is Assistant Director, Proposal Development at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). As a member of the Organizational Development & Training Team, Jamie coordinates a broad range of activities: from the inception of a research idea, to identification of funding opportunities, to proposal development and submission. In this role she interfaces between research and functional teams to bring together complementary skills, knowledge, and resources into successful applications and projects. She also helps guide strategic planning and engagement with potential funders and collaborators, and provides a variety of training opportunities to those new to proposal development.

Jamie’s professional interests are driven by her desire to apply her scientific writing and critical thinking skills to population health and global development while working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Before joining IHME in 2012, Jamie led research projects in basic biology and clinical sciences at the University of California – San Francisco and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She has also spent time as a science writer and editor. Jamie received a Bachelor of Science from Saint Norbert College and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington.

IHME was established at the Unviversity of Washington in Seattle in 2007. Its mission is to improve health through better health evidence.
