Laurent is responsible for guiding IHME in meeting our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) objectives internally through our organizational culture and externally through our research and policy impact. His role spans both internal organizational culture and external research and policy impact. As the first person to occupy this post, Laurent brings a heightened focus to IHME’s DEI initiatives. He works closely with the DEI Council, a group committed to DEI objectives, as well as with Employee Resource Groups. 

Laurent’s work is anchored by IHME’s four DEI pillars: Objectivity, Belonging, Voice, and Growth. Alongside the DEI Council, he drives efforts to develop these foundational pillars further. He is committed to creating an environment where every employee, regardless of tenure or level, can bring their authentic self to work. In prior roles, Laurent has garnered a wealth of experience in diversity and inclusion initiatives, strategic planning, and people operations across various organizations. A native of Manchester, England, Laurent moved to the US for higher education. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakwood University and an MBA from Baylor University. He is also certified in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through Cornell University.
