Sandra Munro, PhD, joined IHME as a Publications Officer in January of 2019. She completed her PhD in Molecular Biology at McGill University, Montreal, and has worked for more than 20 years in molecular biology and microbiology, including in collaboration with the U.S. Army and Air Force to develop detection technologies for biothreat agents, and as a Research Scientist at the University of Washington to develop clinical diagnostics for infectious diseases. She has co-authored many papers on a variety of health-related topics, including the benefits of dark chocolate!
IHME was established at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2007. Its mission is to improve health through better health evidence.
