Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington and The Lancet to co-host international research conference in Seattle

Open house tour of Institute set for Wednesday, April 9, followed by two-day research conference to be held Thursday and Friday, April 10-11

WHO: Global health researchers, educators and policy leaders from around the world

WHAT: Global Health Metrics and Evaluation: Current State and Future Directions is the title of a two-day conference co-sponsored by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington and The Lancet. Conference presenters will share the latest research in health needs and outcomes from around the world, including assessments of the performance of health programs that guide international policymaking.

The April 10-11 conference will be preceded by an afternoon media "meet and greet" and an evening Open House April 9 at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). The Open House will offer an opportunity for conference participants, journalists, and invited guests to tour the new facilities and learn more about IHME and the new Department of Global Health at the University of Washington.

WHEN:

  • Press meet and greet: Wednesday, April 9, 4:15-5:15 p.m.
  • Open House: Wednesday, April 9, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Research conference: Thursday and Friday, April 10-11, 8:30-5:30 p.m.
