Researchers from IHME are presenting the most up-to-date findings on cancer trends around the world at the World Cancer Congress in Montreal, Canada. The aim of the congress program is to ensure that the knowledge gained from cancer research is efficiently and effectively used for those in need.

Dr. Mohsen Naghavi, a leading researcher in the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors (GBD) 2010 Study, will speak about preliminary GBD estimates, indicating where cancer mortality and years of life lost have dramatically decreased and where no progress has been made. Visiting Fellow Ali Mokdad presents the global impact of primary liver cancer. Ben Campbell, an IHME Post-Bachelor Fellow, presents the changing burden of breast cancer in the high-income countries of North American, Western Europe, and Australia.

Visit IHME at our booth at the World Cancer Congress, where you can learn more about our research and the Institute’s education programs and explore global cervical and breast cancer trends in an interactive data visualization tool.
