IHME Researcher Laura Dwyer-Lindgren and Post-Bachelor Fellow Amelia Bertozzi-Villa will participate in the panel discussion “Community health assessment: Better data for better health” at the National Association of County and City Health Officials conference NACCHO Annual 2015: Envisioning the future, creating our path. The session will be led by Alonzo Plough, Vice President, Research-Evaluation-Learning, and Chief Science Officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Local information on the burden of disease and risk factors is essential for planning and evaluating public health activities. This session highlights methods for generating local estimates of the prevalence of risk factors and health outcomes and demonstrates how this information can be used to encourage action and empower communities.
