IHME Director Dr. Christopher Murray will speak at the 2012 Annual Meetings for the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Board of Governors of the World Bank Group in Tokyo, Japan. Since the inaugural Annual Meeting in 1946, these sessions have been an opportunity for the Board of Governors to make decisions regarding international monetary issues and approve corresponding resolutions.

Dr. Murray will participate on the seminar panel titled “Global Health 1: The Case for Investing in Health, Again!” The session’s topics will focus on the role of the private sector in funding and providing health care services, the future of funding for low income countries, and what can be done to improve accountability in the health sector to ensure the most effective use of limited resources.
