Global Burden of Disease (GBD) trainings and workshops prepare learners to use and apply GBD data, results, and tools in academic, research, and professional settings. Through the trainings and workshops, learners build competency to assess and analyze trends and patterns in health outcomes and build proficiency in evidence-based decision-making.
Whether you are new to the GBD or a long-time collaborator, these courses provide new learning opportunities. We offer introductory, advanced, and expert-level courses.
Introductory Courses provide fundamental knowledge of the primary GBD concepts and metrics and fluency in the basic functionality of our main data visualization tools.
Introduction to GBD: An online course that presents the conceptual framework, key metrics, and analytical strategies of the GBD study. This online course provides interactive opportunities to use and explore GBD results through our visualization tools, and examples of how to translate GBD evidence into action.
Advanced Courses enhance mastery of data visualization tools, analytical methods used in the estimation process of the GBD, and the ability to communicate results to a variety of stakeholders.
GBD Technical Workshop: This workshop provides hands-on learning of analytical methods, data sources, visualization tools, and policy implications, and cultivates connections and knowledge sharing between audiences of engaged practitioners. Training sessions promote debate, discussion, and an open exchange of ideas.
