DEI and Anti-Racism Efforts

IHME is committed to providing the evidence base necessary to help solve the world’s most important health problems. This requires creativity and innovation, which is cultivated by an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment that respects and appreciates differences, embraces collaboration, and invites the voices of all IHME team members. In addition, IHME strives to be an anti-racist organization. Every Friday we set aside time as an institute to educate ourselves on matters related to anti-racism, not only in the global health sphere, but within society at large.

Fundamental to our operations are discovery and creative problem-solving, which we achieve in part through our rich diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. We embrace collaboration and are continually striving to invite the voices of all employees while we strengthen their sense of belonging and provide opportunities for growth. Regardless of your position here, you will benefit in some way from our anti-racist work; our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Campaign; our affinity groups; and our mentorship project. Supervisors complete our bespoke Leadership Short Course and attend monthly sessions in order to strengthen their supervisory skills.

Whether we are working from home in order to flatten the curve or from a brick-and-mortar building, we believe in community. We build and sustain this, in part, through our Community Building Club that hosts regular events, fun contests, and Town Halls with our director and the Senior Management Team. What ideas will you bring to us to strengthen our connections with one another?
