Marie Ng

Affiliate Associate Professor

Marie Ng, PhD, is an Affiliate Associate Professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington, and an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. At IHME, she collaborates closely with TEAM on the assessment of tobacco exposure and burden. She is also a key contributor to the GBD risk factors research. 

Marie’s experience in health data analytics spans across both academia and industry. A statistician by training, she began her global health research journey at IHME as a postgraduate fellow and later as an Assistant Professor. She subsequently transitioned to the industry, where she led data science teams in tech and consulting sectors to develop predictive analytics and generate market insights using real-world data. Marie is passionate about finding creative solutions to data issues and translating complex mathematics into actionable insights for decision-making.

Marie received her PhD from the University of Southern California, specializing in robust statistics, and her BS in Psychology, with minors in Philosophy and Mathematics, from the University of Washington.
