Acting Assistant Professor, US Health Disparities
US Health Disparities | January 10, 2024The US Health Disparities research team is a vital team in the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors enterprise (GBD), a core research area for IHME. A systematic, scientific effort to quantify the comparative magnitude of health loss due to diseases, injuries, and risk factors by age, sex, and geography over time, the GBD is the largest and most comprehensive effort to date to measure epidemiological levels and trends worldwide. The US Health Disparities team engages in research on burden of disease and health disparities in the US, with a particular focus on geographical and racial and ethnic health disparities.

US Health Disparities | April 12, 2024The successful applicant will be a leading member of the Clinical Informatics team and establish a team working on disease burden and risk factor estimation for excluded populations. The Clinical Informatics team processes inpatient, outpatient, and claims data for over 55 countries, representing 3 billion clinical encounters over 30 years. The team’s primary objective is to produce population-level incidence and prevalence rates of disease or injury by year, sex, age, and location for use in the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors (GBD) study and other IHME research projects.
