Biography

Laura Dwyer-Lindgren, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Health Metric Sciences at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. She is a member of the Geospatial Analysis research team, where her focus is mapping the HIV epidemic, and the United States counties team, where her focus is estimating trends and inequalities in health outcomes. She has also contributed to the Gavi Full Country Evaluations.

Laura was a post-bachelor fellow at IHME from 2009 to 2012. During that time, she worked on estimating country-level trends in child and adult mortality for the Global Burden of Disease Study and developed methods of estimating child mortality subnationally using birth history data for the Malaria Control Policy Assessment project. She then moved to the Geospatial Analysis team as Researcher, primarily mapping and analyzing HIV.

Laura received a Master of Public Health degree in Health Metrics and Evaluation from the University of Washington. She later received a PhD in Public Health at Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

IHME was established at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2007. Its mission is to improve health through better health evidence.
