Kevin Ikuta

Affiliate Assistant Professor

Kevin Ikuta, MD, MPH, is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Health Metrics Sciences at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. He is a clinical infectious diseases physician and assistant professor at the University of California Los Angeles and the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital, where he attends on the infectious diseases service and is the hospital epidemiologist. Dr Ikuta joined IHME in 2018 and the focus of his work is estimating the global burden of antimicrobial resistance.

Dr. Ikuta studied at the University of Southern California where he received a BA in Philosophy, Biology, and Chemistry. He received his MD from the University of California Los Angeles and his MPH from the University of Washington. He completed internship, medical residency, and chief residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Washington.
