IHME is partnering with Medtronic Philanthropy to evaluate programs intended to improve heart disease and diabetes care for underserved populations.
HealthRise, a five-year project, is launching in selected communities in Brazil, India, South Africa, and the US. As the evaluation partner, IHME will assess the health systems in these communities, with the help of public health experts, community organizations, and local leaders, to identify areas for improvement in access to and provision of non-communicable disease services. Based on these findings, HealthRise will then sponsor small innovative grants targeting these identified areas for improvement. IHME will monitor and evaluate these grants, and, during the fifth year of the project, release our findings on the programs’ impact. This evidence can then be used to guide future programs to help improve access to care and overall health for people living with chronic disease.
